Turkmenenergo Electricity Corporation of Turkmenistan and Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the Afghan National Electricity Company, signed an agreement in Ashgabat extending the contract for the supply of Turkmen electricity to Afghanistan by 2023.

Turkmen electricity is supplied to Afghanistan at preferential prices in several directions. This makes it possible to provide electricity to almost all northern provinces, as well as the western and northwestern regions of Afghanistan, including the provinces of Herat, Badghis, Jowzjan, Balkh, Faryab, as well as the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif, Shibergan and others.

Ashgabat constantly calls on interested states and international organizations to develop a dialogue with the new authorities of Afghanistan. Turkmenistan is interested in the restoration of Afghanistan and its integration into world economic relations.

In addition to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan currently also supplies electricity to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
