Azerbaijan produced 26 billion kWh of electricity in 2020

In January-December 2020, Azerbaijan produced 25,811.2 mln kWh of electricity.

During the reporting period, the production of electricity at TPPs amounted to 24,398.2  mln kWh, at hydroelectric power plants - 1,069.5  mln kWh, from other sources (WPPs, SPPs and BZSTBO*) - 343.55  mln kWh. Wind power plants generated 96.1  mln kWh, solar power plants - 46.9  mln kWh, and a municipal solid waste incineration plant - 200.6  mln kWh.

In 2020, Azerenerji OJSC generated 23033.8  mln kWh of electricity (TPPs - 22142.5  mln kWh, HPPs - 891.3  mln kWh), the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - 429.7  mln kWh (TPPs - 230, 8  mln kWh, HPPs - 157.8  mln kWh, SPPs - 41.1  mln kWh), independent power plants - 2272.7  mln kWh, Energy Company Azerishig - 75.1  mln kWh.

Electricity exports for the specified period amounted to 1,147.8  mln kWh, imports - 136.3  mln kWh.
