May 27 this year at the Development Strategy Center public hearings were held on the effectiveness of work carried out in the system of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by specialists from the Ministries of Energy and Justice, the Development Strategy Center and representatives of the media.

As noted at the event, based on the suggestion of the Ministry of Justice, proposals are currently being developed in the country to accelerate reforms, significantly increase responsibility for the illegal use of energy resources, and amend the rules for transferring powers to inspectorates to impose administrative fines, if any. cases.

During the hearings, the specialists of the Ministry of Energy spoke about the systematic work carried out in the field of providing consumers with fuel and energy resources. For example, by the end of the year, generating capacity in the electric power industry will be increased from 14,000 to 15,800 MW, or by 1,800 MW. Thus, compared to 2016, the generating capacity will increase by 52%.

For this, in October this year, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 MW in the Tashkent region, a gas power plant with a capacity of 174 MW in the Khorezm region and a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW (514 MW in total) in the Navoi region will be commissioned.

In December, 2 thermal power plants with a total capacity of 470 MW will be put into operation in the Tashkent region, power plants with a capacity of 270 MW in Bukhara, and 220 MW in Kashkadarya. Also in the Samarkand region by the end of the year it is planned to commission a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW (1060 MW in total).

At the same time, 4.6 billion kWh of electricity will be generated at the newly constructed capacities in the autumn-winter period (the annual production capacity is 12 billion kWh.

According to the schedule, only 26 thousand kilometers of low-voltage power transmission lines and more than 9,000 transformer substations will be repaired. For reference: in comparison with last season, 3,000 km of lines and 1,268 transformer substations will be repaired.

In addition, within the framework of the program for the modernization of low and medium voltage lines, 15,000 kilometers of power transmission lines and 4,000 transformer substations will be reconstructed and modernized.

Thanks to the implementation of these measures, from October to March, consumers will receive only 30.8 billion kWh of electricity, which is 2 billion kWh or 7% more than in the current season.

Full AMRCS coverage of consumers is the basis for timely payments. In particular, last year the solvency was 88%, and with the introduction of AMRCS this figure was 100%, and among the population over the year it increased from 67% to 95%.

To provide consumers of the republic with natural gas, 70 kilometers will be repaired and 83 kilometers of gas pipelines will be reconstructed. Over 5 thousand gas-distributing plants will be overhauled by October 1.
