70 investors submitted applications for participation in the first tender for a wind power plant in Uzbekistan
70 companies and consortia from 30 countries have submitted applications for participation in the first tender in Uzbekistan for the construction of a wind power plant (WPP) with 100 MW installed capacity.
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Agency for Development of Public-Private Partnerships under the Ministry of Finance have invited independent private electricity producers to participate in the project.
Winners of the tender will take part in the development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of facilities under this project.
The first tender for a wind energy project will be implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as part of cooperation agreement targeted at the construction of wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW.
The site for the constructinstalled capacityion of this wind farm and related infrastructure was selected in the Karauzyak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
