On February 8, 2024, at the Branch of the CIS Executive Committee, a meeting of the expert group of the CIS member states was held to agree on the draft Concept of cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of energy security and the Action Plan for its implementation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, plenipotentiary representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Executive Committee of the Electric Power Industry CIS Council, Commission of the CIS Member States on the Use of Atomic Energy for Peaceful Purposes, National Research University "Moscow Energy Institute", Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, PJSC Gazprom.
During the meeting, proposals submitted by the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on draft documents were discussed.
It was decided to continue work on conceptual documents on cooperation between CIS member states in the field of energy security for the purpose of their further consideration by the highest bodies of the CIS in the prescribed manner.
