A meeting of the heads of system operators of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation was held in Moscow

On September 18, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by the Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhandos Nurmaganbetov, Chairman of the Board of KEGOC JSC Nabi Aitzhanov, took part in a number of meetings in Moscow (Russian Federation).

As part of the familiarization with the work of the System Operator of the Unified Power System of Russia, the delegation of Kazakhstan visited the control center, as well as the personnel training center of the Main Dispatch Directorate of the Unified Power System of Russia.

Chairman of the Board of SO UPS JSC Fedor Opadchiy spoke about the current situation in the power system of the Russian Federation, and introduced the Kazakhstan delegation to the dispatch control systems of the UPS of Russia used in Russia.

The second meeting took place at the site of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Representatives of the EAEU member countries visited the site of the Administrator of the trading system of the Russian wholesale electricity market (ATS). The delegates became familiar with the principles and conditions of the functioning of the day-ahead electricity market and the balancing market.

The delegation’s visit ended with participation in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union in the energy sector, at which the inconsistent positions of the draft documents being developed on the functioning of the common electricity market of the Union were discussed.
