A solar power plant with a capacity of 230 MW was opened in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan signed an agreement with a company from the United Arab Emirates for the construction of solar and wind power plants.

Another solar power plant - Garadagh - is already commissioned. Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony. He noted that one of the key tasks is to diversify the economy, which will reduce dependence on oil and gas. In the coming years, Azerbaijan will export hydrogen, including “green” hydrogen. The President later received a delegation led by the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.

The foundation of the Garadagh solar power plant was laid in March last year. The plant must meet the growing energy needs of the republic, as well as the ability to supply energy for export. During the ceremony, the President of Azerbaijan emphasized that the invested funds of Arab companies prove that the country has a favorable investment climate.
