Azerbaijan to adopt state programs for development of electric power industry

In order to develop the electric power industry in Azerbaijan, short-term (for a period of 5 years), medium-term (for a period of 5 to 10 years) and long-term (for a period of more than 10 years) state programs will be adopted.

This is reflected in the draft law "On Electricity", which was discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology.

The document of strategic environmental assessment (SEQ) of draft state programs will be prepared in the manner prescribed by the law "On Environmental Impact Assessment", and a state environmental review of this document will be carried out.
