By 2030, Russia will increase the capacity of renewable energy sources from 6 to 12 GW. This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Ilya Torosov at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

According to him, by 2030 the share of green energy in Russia will increase to 39.7% compared to 37.8% this year. Half of the increase will come from doubling production from renewable energy sources. He also noted that the volume of state-guaranteed return on investment under the renewable energy support program is 175 billion rubles.

Currently, the installed capacity of renewable sources is 6.04 GW, including facilities in isolated energy systems and self-generation. As Torosov emphasized, 110 projects with a total capacity of 4 GW are at the implementation stage.
