Electricity consumption in the Russian Federation in January-April 2021 increased by 4.1%, production - by 5.1%
Electricity consumption in Russia as a whole in the first four months of 2021 amounted to 390.1 billion kWh, which is 4.1% more than a year earlier (excluding consumption on February 29 of a leap year 2020 - more by 5%). In the UPS of Russia this indicator amounted to 384.1 billion kWh, adding 4.2% (excluding consumption on February 29 of the leap year 2020 - 5.1%), according to the statement of SO UPS.
At the same time, electricity generation in Russia as a whole increased by 5.1% - to 398.3 billion kWh (excluding the impact of February 29 of the leap year 2020 - by 6%).
In the UPS of Russia, electricity generation showed an increase of 5.2% and amounted to 392.3 billion kWh (excluding the impact of February 29 of the leap year 2020 - 6.1%).
In particular, the generation of thermal power plants increased by 7.3% - up to 227.9 billion kWh, nuclear power plants - by 8.2% - up to 75.2 billion kWh, power plants of industrial enterprises - by 1% - up to 23, 5 billion kWh, while the generation of hydroelectric power plants decreased by 4.3% to 63.9 billion kWh.
