Electricity production in the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 1.2% over 10 months

According to operational data for January-October 2023, the total volume of electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 24,032.8 million kWh. Compared to the same period last year, electricity production increased by 278.5 million kWh (1.2%).

In January-October, electricity generation at thermal power plants amounted to 22,213.8 million kWh, at hydroelectric power plants - 1,529.3 million kWh, and from other sources - 289.7 million kWh. The wind farm generated 49.1 million kWh of electricity, the solar power plant - 58.6 million kWh, and 182.0 million kWh at the municipal solid waste incineration plant.

During the reporting period, electricity generation by Azerenergy OJSC amounted to 21,674.6 million kWh (20,242.1 million kWh at thermal power plants, 1,432.5 million kWh at hydroelectric power plants), and by the State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - 402.6 million kWh (264.7 million kWh at thermal power plants, 84.0 million kWh at hydroelectric power plants, 53.9 million kWh at solar power plants), 37.8 million kWh at wind farms of Azerishig OJSC and 1917, 8 million kWh at independent wind farms.

In January-October 2023, electricity exports amounted to 2357.1 million kWh, and imports - 190 million kWh.

It should be noted that electricity generation in the republic in October 2023 amounted to 2494.2 million kWh.

During the month, imports of produced electricity amounted to 10.5 million kWh, exports - 519.4 million kWh.
