The National Energy Regulatory Agency (NERA) of the Republic of Moldova approved new electricity tariffs, which were reduced following a reduction in its purchase price. In particular, on April 12, an extraordinary meeting of the ANRE was held, during which decisions were approved to reduce regulated prices for the supply of electricity to final consumers.

The main factor behind the decrease in regulated prices for the supply of electricity to final consumers is the signing by the state company Energocom of a new contract for the purchase of electricity from Moldavskaya GRES for a period of six months at a price of $66 per MWh, which is $7 less than in the last four month.

In this context, for company Premier Energy, a reduction in the average purchase price of electricity by approximately 13% was applied, compared to the average purchase price applied in determining the current prices (204 bani/kWh compared to 232 bani/kWh) . And for company FEE Nord, the reduction in the average purchase price of electricity was about 10%, compared to the average purchase price used to determine current prices (212 bani/kWh compared to 234 bani/kWh).

Other factors that influenced the price reduction are:

- application of the exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar in the amount of 18.99 lei/US dollar, which is 5.4% less than the value used in determining the current prices;

- application of the consumer price index in Moldova in the amount of 15.7%, which is 2.2 percentage points less than the value used in determining the current prices.

Thus, based on the results of the analysis of the data provided by the suppliers, the following regulated prices for the supply of electricity by "Premier Energy" S.R.L., differentiated by demarcation points or places of consumption of final consumers, were approved:

- 205 bani/kWh for electricity at entry points to transmission networks, which is 42 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 225 bani/kWh - at points of exit from transmission networks, which is 42 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 228 bani/kWh for end users whose electrical installations are connected to high voltage distribution networks (35; 110 kV), which is 42 bani/kWh below the current price;

- 247 bani/kWh - for end-users whose electrical installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6; 10 kV), 42 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 299 bani/kWh - for end-users whose electrical installations are connected to low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kV), 43 bani/kWh less than the current price.

For AS "Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord" the following differentiated regulated prices have been established, namely:

- 224 bani/kWh for electricity at entry points to transmission networks, which is 26 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 244 bani/kWh - at points of exit from transmission networks, which is 26 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 268 bani/kWh for end-users whose electrical installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6; 10 kV), which is

27 bani/kWh less than the current price;

- 358 bani/kWh - for end-users whose electrical installations are connected to low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kV), which is 26 bani/kWh less than the current price.

Prices come into force from the date of publication in the Official Monitor.

ANRE stated that it would promptly intervene in the consideration and adjustment of prices for the supply of electricity, taking into account the interests of end consumers and ensuring the ability of licensees to provide quality services.
