Energy Ministries of Belarus and Russia discussed issues of cooperation in the field of electric power
On November 18, 2021, a working meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus Denis Moroz and Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Snikkars at the Ministry of Energy of Belarus.
Topical issues of cooperation in the electric power industry were discussed both within the framework of the Union State and in the format of the EAEU.
In particular, the economic aspects of the parallel operation of the electricity markets of the two countries were considered. The parties also discussed the progress in preparing a draft interstate agreement on the formation of a common electricity market of the Union State, the signing of which is envisaged by the union program for the creation of a common electricity market, approved by the integration decree of the Heads of State on November 4.
As Denis Moroz noted, within the framework of the discussion of partnership topical issues, the Ministries of Energy of the two countries are always aimed at a constructive approach and achieving mutual understanding.
“For us, bilateral relations are very important in terms of building our positions, including within the framework of the movement that is going on between our states within the EAEU,” added Pavel Snikkars.
