Experts discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy sector at the site of the CIS Executive Committee

On March 1, 2023, the third meeting of the expert group of the CIS member states was held at the Branch of the CIS Executive Committee to agree on the draft Concept of Cooperation between the CIS member states in the energy sector for the period up to 2035 and the Plan of Priority Actions for its implementation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council, the Commission of the CIS Member States on the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, the National Research University "Moscow Energy Institute" , Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, Rosatom State Corporation, PJSC Gazprom, PJSC Transneft, JSC SO UPS, NP Market Council, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Executive Committee of the CIS.

The experts discussed in detail the priority areas of cooperation between the CIS member states in the energy sector reflected in the draft documents. Particular attention was paid to the fuel and energy complex, including the oil, gas, coal industries, electric power, nuclear energy, renewable energy sources, as well as issues related to the development and dissemination of breakthrough technologies.

The next meeting of the expert group is scheduled for March 31, 2023.
