During the business forum "Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan", the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zhaparov, suggested that Uzbek companies build small and medium-sized hydropower plants in the Kyrgyz Republic.

As A. Zhaparov noted, given the global problems associated with environmental pollution and climate change, Kyrgyzstan is extremely interested in cooperation in the field of introducing "clean" energy.

“Our republic has a high potential for renewable energy sources (RES), the main types of which are hydropower, solar energy, wind energy and geothermal water energy.

We invite Uzbek companies to consider the possibility of participating in the construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants in our country. These are projects that will bring not only material, but also environmental dividends for our entire region,” said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He recalled that agreements had been reached with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the joint implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project. According to him, in the future Kambarata HPP-1 will serve for the development of the Central Asian region.

It should be noted that the business forum is being held as part of the program of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. As a result, 10 documents are expected to be signed for approximately $100 million. After the official part, the entrepreneurs of the two countries will hold B2B meetings to establish and expand business partnerships.
