In 2035, Kyrgyzstan will have to produce 40.3 billion kWh. electricity, - Minister of Energy
In 3 years, Kyrgyzstan must stop importing electricity. Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev spoke about this on December 8 at a press conference on the results of activities for 11 months.
According to the department, electricity consumption in 2023 will be 17.4 billion kWh. Production in the republic is 14 billion kWh. Own production is estimated at 11 billion kWh.
According to the head of the Ministry of Energy, electricity imports in 2023 will amount to
3.2 billion kWh, but next year imports should not exceed 3 billion kWh.
According to forecasts, by 2026 consumption will reach 18 billion 100 million kWh. By that time, production and consumption in the electricity industry must be equalized, and from 2027, export opportunities must be provided.
“In 2035, consumption may increase to 26.4 billion kWh. We will have to generate 40.3 billion kWh,” Minister T. Ibraev informed.
