Issyk-Kul hosted the 37th meeting of the Coordinating Electric Power Council of Central Asia (CEPC Central Asia), the press service of the National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan OJSC reports.
The event was attended by representatives of the National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan OJSC, KEGOC JSC (Kazakhstan), NPG Uzbekistan JSC, Barki Tojik OJSC (Tajikistan) in the videoconferencing mode, CDC Energia.

The meeting considered the results of the work of the Integrated Power System of Central Asia (IPS of Central Asia) in the autumn-winter period of 2021-2022, the current mode of operation in the growing season of 2022, the expected mode of operation of the IPS of Central Asia for the period of the upcoming autumn-winter period and others agenda items to ensure coordinated actions and coordination of the parallel work of the IPS of Central Asia for uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the region.
In addition, in order to improve the reliability of power supply, a proposal was made to introduce WAMS (Wide Area Measurement System - technology of synchronous vector measurements) in the power systems of the UPS of Central Asia. Also at the meeting, the participants considered the status of the “Joint Concept for the Development of the UPS of Kazakhstan and the IPS of Central Asia”.
For reference: The members of the CEPC of Central Asia include System Operators of 4 countries: JSC "National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan" (Kyrgyz Republic), JSC "KEGOC" (Republic of Kazakhstan), JSC "NPG Uzbekistan" (Republic of Uzbekistan), and OJHC "Barki Tojik (Republic of Tajikistan). The CEPC was created to ensure the rational use of fuel and energy resources in the region, as well as to promote the implementation of the conditions of intergovernmental agreements and agreements concluded by energy entities of the participating countries.
