Kazakh holding Samruk-Energy JSC increased electricity generation in 2022
Samruk-Energy JSC, the largest Kazakhstani energy holding, increased electricity production in 2022.
In 2022, the energy producing companies of the holding generated 35,884.4 million kWh of electricity, which is 0.8% more than in 2021.
At the same time, the holding's RES facilities also increased production last year. At the end of 2022, electricity generation amounted to 417.5 million kWh, which is 34.6% higher compared to 2021. At the same time, the share of electricity generated by renewable energy enterprises of Samruk-Energy JSC in January-December 2022 amounted to 8.3% of the volume of electricity generated by renewable energy facilities in Kazakhstan.
According to the source, Bogatyr Komir LLP, a coal mining company within the holding, produced 42,473.2 thousand tons of hard coal in January-December 2022. At the same time, the volume of coal sold last year amounted to 42,409.4 thousand tons, of which 32,324.9 thousand tons fell to the domestic market of Kazakhstan, and 10,084.5 thousand tons were exported to Russia.
As noted in the company, the share of Samruk-Energy JSC in the electric power market of Kazakhstan remains the leader and amounts to 31.7%.
