Modern solar panels will be produced in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced plans to establish the production of modern solar panels.

“Work is underway to build a plant for the production of solar panels using HIT (heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer) and PERC (passivated emitter rear cells) technologies,” the ministry reported in response to an official request from the Kazinform agency.

It is reported that production equipment will be delivered within 1-1.5 months, and a line for the production of solar panels will be launched, which in a short time will have to turn into a full-fledged plant with a capacity of 50 MW.

According to the results expected by the project managers, it is planned to enter the market with a cost of one unit - 100,000 tenge, planned production: 300 units of panels in 2024, 6000 units - in 2025, 6000 units - in 2026.

There are plans to increase production to 30,000 panels per year. On the world market, only Germany, Japan and China produce similar products.
