On April 26, 2023, a meeting of the Working Group of the CIS Electric Power Council on low-carbon development of the electric power industry of the EPС CIS was held

On April 26, 2023, the first meeting of the Working Group of the CIS Electric Power Council on low-carbon development of the electric power industry (WG LCD) was held to discuss the proposals of the EC EPC CIS on harmonization of low-carbon development tools.

Representatives of relevant ministries, electric power companies and organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and employees of the Executive Committee of the EPC CIS took part in the videoconference meeting.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council - Taras Kupchikov.

During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:

1. About the draft Plan of the WG NSD for 2023-2025.

2. On the materials developed within the framework of Task No. 1 of the NSD WG “Harmonization of low-carbon development tools in the CIS member states and the formation of a joint system of carbon regulation”.

3. On the development of the Concept of Cooperation between the CIS Member States in the Energy Sector for the period up to 2035 and the Strategy for the Development of the CIS Fuel and Energy Complex until 2035.

5. On the preparation of information publications in the area of activity of the WG NSD in 2023-2024.

6. О holding bilateral and multilateral seminars and conferences at the request of members of the NSD WG.

7. On possible mechanisms for organizing scientific and technical exchange on the topics of the NUR WG.

8. On the participation of representatives of the NSD WG as listeners and / or speakers in the First annual final conference of the working structures of the CIS EES, scheduled for November-December 2023.

9. On the draft updated model regulation on the CIS EES Working Structures, including the procedure for monitoring the activity of the CIS EES Working Structures in accordance with the KPI.
