Over 20 documents signed within the framework of the conference on interregional cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia

Within the framework of the ninth conference on interregional cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, which was held in Dushanbe, over 20 documents on cooperation in various fields were signed.

Agreements were signed in the field of agriculture, energy, light industry, agricultural technology, education, transport, tourism, geological exploration of mineral resources, healthcare and others.

The conference was held in 8 panel sessions, which covered topics such as "Russia and Tajikistan: interaction in the field of energy and ecology", "Trends and ways of interaction between Tajikistan and Russia in the field of transport and logistics", "Cooperation in the educational field", "Tourism : tasks and prospects”.

Large, small and medium-sized companies in such industries as mixed industries, industry, energy, agriculture, tourism, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, construction, services, mining, IT technologies, from the Russian and Tajik sides presented more than 800 entrepreneurs, experts and employees of various organizations.

Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda took part in the Ninth Conference on Interregional Cooperation "Business and Investment Partnership between Russia and Tajikistan".

“The agenda of today's conference included 7 panel sessions on various areas of cooperation and a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as a meeting of the Tajik-Russian Business Council. This conference is taking place on the eve of an important event in the history of Tajik-Russian relations, on May 20 we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance,” said Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda.

According to the Prime Minister of the country, during this period, relations between the two countries were built on a solid basis of common interests and values of age-old friendship.

“This proved that Tajik-Russian relations have always been aimed at developing and strengthening the long-term mutually beneficial security and sustainable development interests of Tajikistan and Russia,” added Kokhir Rasulzoda.

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin thanked the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Prime Minister of the country Kokhir Rasulzoda for the warm welcome of the Russian delegation and the excellent organization of such a significant and large-scale event.

“The conference is being held for the ninth time and has over a thousand participants. Representatives of 16 Russian regions, more than 200 companies arrived in Dushanbe. This confirms the mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in various fields. Russia and Tajikistan are linked by strong relations of strategic partnership and alliance. Trade and economic cooperation is developing dynamically. At the end of last year, the trade turnover increased by 18% and amounted to $1.5 billion. This is a record figure over the past 20 years, but, nevertheless, this is not enough,” said the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Russia occupies one of the leading places in terms of investment in the economy of Tajikistan. The total amount of accumulated capital investments exceeds $1.5 billion.

“Russian companies are actively working in the backbone sectors of the economy – construction, energy, industry, communications, and financial services. We are now seriously strengthening cooperation in healthcare, education and tourism. All our sectoral ministers who are responsible for these areas have come here. Industrial cooperation is developing in a number of areas,” added Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
