Participants of the 60th meeting of the CIS Electricity Council discussed energy security
During the meeting, issues of developing a sustainable low-carbon electric power industry, cooperation of the CIS countries in the field of renewable energy, taking into account the maintenance of national and regional energy security, were discussed, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported.
The participants of the meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council, which opened on Thursday in the capital of Kazakhstan, discussed issues of cooperation in order to maintain energy security.
"As part of the meeting, topical issues of developing a sustainable low-carbon electric power industry, cooperation between the CIS countries in the field of renewable energy, taking into account the maintenance of national and regional energy security, were discussed, and a number of documents submitted by the coordinating council under the CIS Electric Energy Council were considered," the message says.
During the event, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic Zhandos Nurmaganbetov presented a report on the development of the electric power industry in Kazakhstan, in which he noted the importance of the transition to low-carbon development with subsequent transformation into a carbon-free economy, and spoke about ongoing activities aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
