Pavel Snikkars held a session “Electric power as a driver of economic growth” at the Energy Day of the exhibition-forum “Russia”

A session on the topic “Electric power as a driver of economic growth” took place as part of the industry Energy Day at the “Russia” exhibition and forum. The moderator was Pavel Snikkars. Opening the panel session, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation pointed to the growth in electricity consumption in the country. And this growth, added Pavel Snikkars, “must be predicted and planned in a certain way, generation facilities, backbone and distribution network complexes must be created.”

Chairman of the Board of SO UPS JSC Fyodor Opadchiy analyzed the most significant events in the electric power industry in 2023, especially focusing on the introduction of a new system for the long-term development of the electric power industry and new points of growth in electricity consumption, among which he noted data processing centers.

Maxim Bystrov, Chairman of the Board of the NP Market Council Association, spoke about the development of electricity markets, attracting investments into the industry, as well as expanding the geography of price zones and the development of competition.

Deputy General Director of Rosseti PJSC Alexey Molsky dedicated his speech to the implementation of the largest infrastructure projects, technological connection to power grids, and customer services.

Chairman of the Board of the Association of Guaranteed Suppliers and Energy Sales Companies Natalya Nevmerzhitskaya focused on transforming approaches to working with the final consumer of electricity and the use of digital services.

The “Green Agenda” and the development of hydropower became the topics of the speech by First Deputy General Director of PJSC RusHydro Roman Berdnikov. In addition, he dwelled in detail on the development of energy sector in the Far East.

Alexandra Panina, member of the board of PJSC Inter RAO, focused on the role and place of the Russian electric power industry in the world and its main advantages.

Representatives of energy companies also spoke about special training programs for young specialists and expressed their readiness to employ graduates of Russian universities in their companies.
