The document was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by General Director of PJSC Rosseti Andrey Ryumin and Chairman of the Board of JSC National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan Dadajon Isakulov. The roadmap includes a list of measures for 2021-2022 aimed at developing the country's power grid complexes, attracting investment, implementing projects using digital technologies, sharing best practices and experience.

In particular, it is planned to study pilot projects in Uzbekistan with the possible participation of Rosseti. These projects will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers and the transit of power from one of the largest thermal power plants in the Republic.

Rosseti and JSC National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in October 2020 as part of the 21st meeting of the Russian-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Bukhara. Joint projects are envisaged in the field of construction and modernization of the network infrastructure of Uzbekistan, including the introduction of advanced technological solutions, interaction in the development of schemes and programs for the development of energy systems of the Republic and neighboring countries.

“The network complexes of Russia and Uzbekistan have long-standing and strong ties. We have common traditions, a single engineering school, and similar standards and requirements. This creates a basis for the successful implementation of large-scale joint projects aimed at developing the energy sector in Uzbekistan, introducing advanced technological solutions, expanding the competencies of energy experts of the countries in the field of international cooperation, ”said Andrey Ryumin.

“We are working with foreign partners on several projects aimed at the development of backbone electrical networks and high-voltage substations. In particular, our cooperation with PJSC Rosseti began within the framework of the Russian Energy Week (REW) international forum, which was held on October 2-4, 2019 in Moscow. We believe that after today's agreements within the framework of this St. Petersburg Economic Forum, the level of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of energy will reach a higher quality level”, said Dadajon Isakulov.
