Republic of Azerbaijan – electricity indicators for January 2024

According to operational data for January 2024, the total volume of electricity production in Azerbaijan last month amounted to 2,401.6 million kWh.

In January, electricity production at thermal power plants amounted to 2229.3 million kWh; at hydroelectric power plants – 129.4 million kWh – 62.2 million kWh more compared to the same period last year; from other sources - 42.9 million kWh - 15.0 million kWh more compared to the same period last year. The wind farms produced 5.8 million kWh of electricity, the solar power plants produced 18.2 million kWh, and the solid waste incineration plant produced 18.9 million kWh.

During the reporting period, electricity generation at Azerenerji OJSC amounted to 2165.7 million kWh (2041.1 million kWh at thermal power plants, 124.6 million kWh at hydroelectric power plant), 30.4 million kWh at the Nakhchivan State Power Plant (24.03 million kWh at thermal power plants, 3.65 million kWh at thermal power plants, 3.65 million kWh at hydroelectric power plants, 2.74 million kWh at solar power plants), 3.74 million kWh at the wind farms of Azerishig OJSC and 201.8 million kWh at the Independent EPPs).

Last month, electricity exports amounted to 116.3 million kWh, imports – 19.0 million kWh.
