Sh. Mirziyoyev: Uzbekistan will create its own Single Interconnected Power Ring by 2026
Uzbekistan plans to create a single interconnected ring power system by 2026 through the construction of 500-750 kV networks. President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev told about this on January 30 during an acquaintance with the presentation of projects in the fields of youth, sports, healthcare and the electric power industry, his press service reported.
He recalled that the technical failure that occurred on January 25 in the regional power system affected all the power plants of the republic and contributed to the creation of an emergency.
Sh. Mirziyoyev also added that in connection with this, it is planned to create a single interconnected ring system in Uzbekistan through the construction of 500-750 kV networks.
“In particular, by 2026 it is planned to increase the total generating capacity to 27,400 MW and annual production to 110 billion kWh. Then all regions of the country will be firmly connected by 500-750 kV networks creating interconnected single system,” he shared.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan stressed the need to reform the electric power industry system, continue and develop interaction with neighboring countries. On his behalf, a resolution has already been prepared on increasing power generation capacities and automating power supply, the main goal of which is to increase the stability of the power system and uninterrupted supply of electricity to the population.
