Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed projects aimed at developing the energy industry
A delegation of specialists in energetics from Kyrgyzstan led by Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev visited Tajikistan on a working trip.
The main purpose of the visit of specialists in energetics was to deepen relations between the two countries in the energy industry and conduct preliminary negotiations on the implementation of work that has already begun, but not fully completed, after the resolution of border relations.
On the first day of the three-day visit, a meeting took place between the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev and the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the energy industry, projects aimed at developing the industry, HPP KA-1, small hydropower plants under construction, green energy, thermal power plants, coal, the CASA-1000 project, solving the problems of residents of the border zone with electricity.
In addition, the Kyrgyz delegation got acquainted with the progress of construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power plant.
Specialists in energetics from Kyrgyzstan, in particular, got acquainted with the construction of the main water intake of the power plant, which will be carried out at an altitude of 1172 meters above sea level, tunnels with water and ventilation, turbine hall structures and transformer buildings.
