The 4th meeting of the Working Group on Environment, Energy Efficiency and RES was held on October 1, 2020

The 4th meeting of the Working Group on Environment, Energy Efficiency and RES was held on October 1, 2020 in the format of  video conference, which was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, electric power companies and organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, of the Interstate Ecological Council of the CIS Member States, EEC EAEU, UNECE, UNESCAP and employees of the EPC CIS Executive Committee.

Based on the results of consideration of the 4th meeting Agenda issues, the following decisions were made:

1. On the draft of the jubilee Consolidated Report on key issues of ecology, energy efficiency and renewable energy in the electric power industry of the CIS member states, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the GOELRO Plan.

• Approve in principle, taking into account the proposals and comments received from the CIS member states and the discussion held, the draft jubilee Consolidated Report on key issues of ecology, energy efficiency and renewable energy in the electric power industry of the CIS member states, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the GOELRO Plan. Submit it for consideration of the CIS Electric Power Council 57th meeting.
• Ask the representatives of the CIS member states to submit by October 12, 2020 the final information for inclusion in the draft jubilee Consolidated Report, including on the heat and power engineering section.

2. On the development of the draft Consolidated Report on key issues of ecology, energy efficiency and renewable energy in the electric power industry of the CIS member states for 2019-2020 and on making proposals for its additional content.

• The Executive Committee of the EPC CIS shall prepare the first edition of the draft Consolidated Report on key issues of ecology, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in the electric power industry of the CIS member states for 2019-2020 and submit it to the next meeting of the Working Group.
• The Executive Committee of the EPC CIS to request proposals from the relevant ministries and electric power companies of the CIS member states on additional filling of the draft Consolidated Report.

3. On the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the CIS Electric Power Council and the International Renewable Energy Agency.

•  To approve the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the CIS Electric Power Council and the International Renewable Energy Agency.
•  The Executive Committee of the EPC CIS shall submit a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the CIS Electric Power Council and the International Agency for Renewable Energy Sources for consideration of the CIS Electric Power Council57th meeting.

4. On the draft Report on the implementation of the CIS Cooperation Concept Member States in the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Priority Measures Plan for its Implementation for 2019-2020.

• The Executive Committee of the EES of the CIS will continue to work on filling in the Information on the Progress in the Implementation of the Concept of Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Use of Renewable Energy Sources

The next meeting is planned in Moscow, April 2021.
