The conference “CIM in Russia and the world – 2024” brought together more than 200 specialists from energy companies in the Russian Federation and abroad

The IV International Scientific and Technical Conference “CIM in Russia and the World – 2024” in Sochi ended with an emphasis on transferring information exchange to CIM - the most important area for increasing the efficiency of business processes in the electric power industry. The event brought together more than 200 specialists from the largest energy companies in Russia and abroad.

Representatives of the Rosenergoatom concern, PJSC Rosseti, JSC Grid Company, and JSC SO UPS, Deputy General Director of PJSC Inter RAO and Chairman of the Board of the Digital Energy Association took part in the discussion.

The conference discussed the specifics of information exchange in the CIM format, digital modeling of power systems and equipment, as well as regulatory and legal aspects of the use of CIM in the industry, as well as the main directions of development of this technology.

The important role of the System Operator in the process of standardization of information exchange was also emphasized. The round table “Application of CIM in internal and external processes of an energy company” provided an opportunity to discuss the practical aspects of implementing CIM, the benefits of moving to a single machine-readable data model and the significance of this technology in the context of the global transition to alternative energy sources.

At the conclusion of the conference, Roman Bogomolov, Director of Automated Dispatch Control Systems at SO UPS JSC, noted the high professional value of the reports and emphasized the importance of exchanging practical experience in the use of CIM.
