The Government of Tajikistan has approved tariffs for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity.
The new practice is related to the division of the national energy holding into three independent companies.
The document says that the tariff for electricity generated by the facilities of OJHC "Barki Tojik" will be 11.70 dirams (1.1 cents) for each kilowatt from October 1 this year (excluding VAT).
The tariff for electricity transmission, which is now handled by the company created on the basis of the energy holding - Transmission Electric Networks OJSC, from the beginning of the coming month will be 2.56 somoni (excluding VAT) per 1 kilowatt.
The document says that the cost of electricity distribution, which is currently carried out by the Distribution Electric Networks company, is determined in accordance with the established tariffs for each category of consumers.
Tariffs for all categories of consumers, except for OJSC "Tajik Aluminum Company", are increased by a government decree from October 1 this year.
The cost of electricity for the population increases by 16.9% - from 22.66 dirams to 26.51 dirams per kilowatt.
At the same time, the document says that if the monthly consumption of electricity for domestic purposes exceeds 10 thousand kWh, the consumer will pay for each extra kilowatt at the rate for an industrial consumer.
The tariff for industrial and non-industrial consumers will rise from 55.14 dirams to 60.65 dirams from October 1.
Tariffs for other categories from October 1 are set at the following rates:
- for consumers of the public sector, public utilities and sports complexes - 26.51 dirams (from the current 22.66 dirams).
- for water pumps and pumping stations for mechanical irrigation, repair and production bases of the Agency for Melioration and Irrigation from April 1 to September 30 - 9.2 dirams (instead of the current 7.87 dirams), and from October 1 to March 31 - 26.51 dirams (from 22.66 dirams);
- for reclamation vertical reclamation pumping stations - 9.2 dirams (from 7.87 dirams);
- for drinking water supply pumps (excluding individual pumps) and sewerage - 12.6 dirams (from 10.76 dirams);
- for the "Tajik Iron and Steel Works" from May 1 to September 30 - 10.64 dirams (instead of 9.68 dirams), from October 1 to April 30 - 60.65 dirams (instead of 55.14 dirams);
- for educational non-budgetary institutions - 45.51 dirams (from the current 40.37 dirams).
Tariffs for TALCO remain the same - from May 1 to September 30 - 7.20 dirams, and from October 1 to April 30 - 11.80 dirams.
