The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation confirmed the readiness of the SO of the UPS for operation in the heating season 2021-2022

Based on the results of the assessment of the readiness of the electric power industry entities carried out by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to operate in the heating season of 2021/2022, the readiness of the System Operator of the Unified Power System JSC to work in the upcoming autumn-winter period was confirmed. The results of the readiness assessment were approved by the order of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

SO UPS JSC and its branches fully completed the plans for the preparation of all dispatch centers, ensuring their readiness for operation in the autumn-winter period of 2021/2022, provided the regime conditions necessary for the implementation of repair programs of electric power entities and the commissioning of new (reconstructed ) electric power facilities. The system operator annually develops and approves preparation plans for work in the OWP.

The decision on the readiness of the System Operator was made in accordance with the Rules for assessing the readiness of electric power industry entities to work during the heating season, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 543 dated May 10, 2017. Based on the decision of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, JSC System Operator of the Unified Power System has received a Passport of Readiness for Operation in the heating season of 2021/22.

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation uses a risk-based model for assessing the readiness of electric power industry entities to operate in the heating season approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. The model allows assessing readiness based on reported data on the performance of the developed indicators, characterizing the fulfillment by the electric power industry entities and individual consumers of electric energy of the readiness conditions, as well as to carry out a permanent automated monitoring the state of facilities and their readiness to ensure reliable power supply to consumers.

The decision on the readiness of the System Operator to operate in the heating season of 2021/2022 was made by the Ministry of Energy of Russia based on the results of the readiness assessment, which is carried out based on information on the fulfillment of the readiness conditions and the assessment of 21 “readiness indicators” fulfillment.
