The development of the LNG market, the opening of low-carbon hydrogen production facilities, the expansion of the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles - these and many other initiatives were included in the plan for the implementation of the Energy Strategy until 2035, which was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In the strategy adopted last summer, the main goals for the development of the country's fuel and energy complex identified such areas as promoting the country's socio-economic development, as well as strengthening and maintaining Russia's position in the global energy sector. The plan adopted by the Government will contribute to their achievement.

The document includes more than 130 events affecting all sectors of the fuel and energy complex - from oil and gas production to electric power and heat supply, Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with the deputy prime ministers on June 7. A set of initiatives is proposed for each industry task. Moreover, most of it will be implemented in 2021–2022.

The main benchmark in the development of the electric power industry is the increase in the reliability of power supply. For this purpose, measures are planned to introduce intelligent control systems, as well as technologies for remote monitoring and diagnostics of the state of networks. At the same time, the technical connection procedures will be improved, and measures will be taken to reduce losses during the transmission of electricity.

The document also provides for certain measures to improve the energy efficiency of the fuel and energy sector, stimulate the use of renewable energy sources, and develop domestic technologies for low-carbon hydrogen production. A separate track is the formation of a common EAEU energy market.

The implementation of the plan will strengthen the competitiveness of the fuel and energy sector, help to raise its technological level, and, therefore, will increase the contribution of the fuel and energy complex to the country's development.
