The power transmission line in the direction of «Mary[1] hydroelectric power plant - the city of Herat (Afghanistan)” is ready for commissioning, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Its commissioning is scheduled for August this year.

A 220 kilovolt power transmission line is one of the stages in the construction of an interstate high-voltage power transmission line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan.

The Turkish company Çalik Enerji is the general contractor and investor in the construction of the 260-km section of the power transmission line. The line was laid by Turkmen specialists. The builders installed 876 high-voltage transmission towers on time and hung wires along the entire route. The power engineers also completed the expansion of the open switchgear at the Mary SDPP. An unfinished object is still a 220/110/10 kilovolt transformer substation in Serhetabat city.

By the end of May, work here will be completed in accordance with the schedule. For the reliability of the operation of the power transmission line, pH pilot control communication systems and a more advanced relay protection that meets international standards will be installed on the Turkmen section.
