Turkmenistan announced the possibility of supplying electricity to Kazakhstan from a new power facility

A power plant with a capacity of 1,574 MW in the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, the foundation stone of which took place on November 3, will open the possibility of exporting Turkmen electricity to Kazakhstan.

This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana.

The head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan said that the new facility will be located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, approximately 250 km from the Turkmen-Kazakh border.

During the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Kazakhstan stated the existence of good opportunities for partnership in the electric power industry between the countries.
