The head of government recalled that the country intends to increase the share of renewable energy sources to 25% of the total electricity production in the country by 2030.

Abdulla Aripov also said that the government of the country has set the task of switching all state institutions and companies to renewable energy sources by the end of 2022, and norms are also being introduced for the mandatory introduction of alternative energy sources and energy-saving technologies in the construction of social, infrastructure and housing facilities within the framework of ongoing projects. government programs.

“At the same time, it is necessary to manage natural resources more effectively, take measures to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions ... The green transition should not create shocks for developing economies and vulnerable segments of the population,” the Prime Minister added.

According to the updated INDC of Uzbekistan to combat global warming, by 2030 the country intends to reduce specific greenhouse gas emissions per unit of GDP by 35% from the 2010 level.
