Under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, coordination of the draft Strategy for the development of energy cooperation of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization until 2030 began

On November 16 of this year in the city of Astana, under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, coordination of the project “Strategy for the development of energy cooperation of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization until 2030” with representatives of the SCO member states began in a video conference format. During the meeting, the parties held a conceptual discussion of the structure of the draft Strategy and declared their readiness to further agree on the document. The next meeting of representatives of the SCO member states is scheduled for December 12 of this year.

Let us recall that the draft document was developed on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev, voiced within the framework of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States on September 15-16, 2022 in the city of Samarkand.

The document emphasizes the importance of further cooperation and the desire for joint efforts in the field of energy development of the region. The document is aimed at defining a systematic approach and expanding the agenda of the association in the most promising areas of interaction in the energy sector. The project will allow us to more effectively respond to emerging challenges and successfully adapt the organization of cooperation to modern realities.
